THE DEER WHO VISITED NABI ADAM ALAIHIS SALAAM
A long, long time ago, when Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam came to the Earth by Allah’s command, something very special happened. All the animals in the forest were happy to see him. They would come close, say Salaam and show Him love and respect. Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam is the first human being, and He was very kind. He would make a special Dua (prayer) for each animal, asking Allah to give them something good. One day, a group of deer came to visit Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam. They bowed their heads politely. He smiled and made a beautiful Dua for them. Then, He gently touched their backs with His Blessed Hand.
Something incredible happened! These deer began to smell sweet like perfume. It was the smell of musk, a lovely scent that people still love today. The deer walked back through the forest, and soon they met another group of deer. The second group sniffed the air and asked, “Wow! Where did you get that sweet smell?”
The first group replied, “We went to visit Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam. He made Dua for us and touched our backs. That’s why we smell so nice!”
The second group got very excited and ran to visit Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam too. He also made Dua for them and touched their backs kindly. But when they returned, they noticed something…They didn’t smell like musk at all! They asked the first group, “We did what you did. Why didn’t we get the nice smell?” The first group gently explained, “We visited Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam because we love him and wanted to please Almighty Allah. But you came only to get the sweet smell. That’s why you didn’t get it.”
Dear Children! Again, we can see that the animals recognise Allah’s Nabis. The animals journeyed to visit A Nabi and to convey Salaam to him, and due to this, they were blessed. So, if we as the Ummah of The Greatest Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم travel to Madina Shareef, to visit our Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم who is also the Nabi of Nabi Adam Alaihis Salaam and The Nabi of All The Nabis, we too will surely get His صلى الله عليه وسلم Blessings. We should never listen to those who stop us from visiting our Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم. Dear Children! Look at the power in the Blessed Hand of a Nabi. He touched
one herd of deer and their generations continue to produce musk.
The Lesson From The Story:
This story teaches us that when we do something with a sincere heart and a pure intention to please Almighty Allah, He gives us special blessings. However, if we do something just to get a reward, we might miss out on the true gift. If we ever go to Madina Shareef to visit His صلى الله عليه وسلم Blessed Raudha (His Holy Grave), we must go with love and sincerity, not just to ask for things, but to show our love and respect to our Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم, and In’sha Allah (Allah Willing), we will get much more than we could imagine. We again learn that even animals respect the Prophets (Nabis) of Almighty Allah. So, we, too, should show deep love and respect to the Prophets, especially to our Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, Who is the Prophet of all Prophets.
The Lovely Scent of Musk, Came From Nabi Adam’s Touch
The Touch of A Nabi, Is Indeed, A Very Miraculous Touch
THE LIGHT IN NABI MUSA’S EYES
ALAIHIS SALAAM
A long, long time ago, there lived a Prophet of Allah. His name was Nabi Musa Alaihis Salaam. He was so beloved to Almighty Allah that Allah let Nabi Musa Alaihis Salaam speak to Him. That’s why he was called ‘Kaleemullah’, which means, ‘The One Who Spoke With
Allah.’
One day, Nabi Musa Alaihis Salaam had a big wish. He said, ‘O Allah, I want to see You.’ But Allah told him, ‘You Will Never Be Able To See Me, O Musa.’
Still, Allah showed him just a Ray of His Special Light on a big mountain called Mount Toor.
And guess what happened? The mountain couldn’t handle the Light. It turned into ashes! It crumbled down, and Nabi Musa Alaihis Salaam fainted because the Light was so strong.
After that, Nabi Musa’s Alaihis Salaam eyes were not like before. They had seen something so bright, so powerful, that
he had to cover them with a special covering. People couldn’t look into his eyes because they were filled with the shine of Allah’s Light.
Now, his wife, Sayyidah Safura Radi Allahu Anha, loved him very much. One day, she said, ‘O Musa, I want to see your blessed eyes; the ones that saw Allah’s Light.’
Nabi Musa Alaihis Salaam said kindly, ‘No, Safura. It’s too strong. If you look, you may lose your sight.’
But she wanted to feel the beauty of that Light, even if just a little. So, she said, ‘Let me look with one eye only.’ She looked into His eyes with one eye; and that eye went blind! But do you know what? She felt something wonderful in her heart. A joy so special, she wanted more!
So, she opened her other eye, and that one lost sight too, but the first eye started seeing again. Back and forth, she would look with one eye while the other went blind, and slowly, Almighty Allah blessed her so much, that both her eyes became strong enough to see the Special light in Nabi Musa’s Alaihis Salaam eyes. Isn’t that amazing?
Dear Children! Here’s something to think about. Nabi Musa Alaihis Salaam saw only a Ray of Allah’s Light, and His eyes became so powerful that he could see a little black ant walking on a mountain at night!
Dear children, imagine, if that was the power given to Nabi Musa Alaihis Salaam just by seeing a Ray of Light, then how great must our Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم be, who was blessed to see Allah directly?
Subhaan’Allah!
The Lesson From The Story:
Allah’s Light is Most Powerful. It is so powerful that even a mountain turned to dust. Sayyidah Safura Radi Allahu Anha showed us that true love for Almighty Allah and His Nabis brings great blessings. Our Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is the most special of all, because He صلى الله عليه وسلم was blessed with the greatest gift of seeing Almighty Allah.
When Nabi Musa Saw Allah’s Light,
His Eyes Became So Powerful
He Could See An Ant On A Mountain, His Eyes Became So Powerful
THE KIND OLD LADY AND THE NOBLE YOUNG MEN
A long time ago, the two very special Grandsons of our
Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم , Imam Hasan and Imam Husain, along with their cousin Abdullah ibn Ja’far (Allah Is Pleased With All of Them) were traveling to Makkah to perform Hajj.
They had packed their food and water on a camel. But as they journeyed through the hot desert, their camel got lost! It wandered far away, carrying all their supplies. The three travellers were tired, hungry, and very, very thirsty. As they walked, they saw a tiny old house in the distance. Inside lived a kind old woman.
The three young men came to her and politely asked, “Dear Mother, we are very thirsty. Could you please give us something to drink?”
The old woman smiled warmly and said, “Of course, my sons.” She milked her goat and gave them fresh, cool milk to drink. After they drank, they said, “We are also very hungry. Is there anything we could eat?”
The old woman said, “I don’t have any food ready, but if you are willing to wait, I can cook something for you.” She then sacrificed her goat and cooked a delicious meal for them. The three travellers ate happily, thanked her sincerely, and told her, “We are from the Noble Family of The Quraish. If you ever come to Madina, please visit us so that we can repay your kindness!”
Dear Children, The Quraish is the most respected tribe in Arabia and our Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is from the Quraish Tribe.
Later that evening, when her husband came home and found out she had given away their goat to strangers, he became very upset. However, the kind old woman did not regret her decision.
Time passed, and the old woman and her husband became very poor. So, they decided to travel to Madina to find work. Life was hard for them, and they earned only a little money through picking up camel droppings.
One day, while walking through the streets of Madina, the old woman met a young man. He smiled and asked, “Dear Mother, do you remember me?”
She looked carefully but shook her head. The young man said, “I am the one who came to your home when we were lost and thirsty.”
The old woman’s face lit up with joy. She told him about her difficult life. That young man was none other than Imam Hasan Radi Allahu Anhu! He immediately took her to his home.
There, he gifted her one thousand goats and one thousand gold coins! Then, he sent her to his brother, Imam Husain Radi Allahu Anhu. Imam Husain also welcomed her warmly and gave her another one thousand goats and one thousand gold coins.
Then they sent her to Abdullah ibn Ja’far Radi Allahu Anhu, who, upon hearing what had happened, asked her what Imam Hasan and Imam Husain had given her. So, she said together they gave me two thousand goats and two thousand gold coins. Hazrat Abdullah ibn Ja’far then gave her yet another two thousand goats and two thousand gold coins! The old woman was so happy! She returned to her husband with four thousand goats and four thousand gold coins, all because she had once shared one simple meal with kindness.
The Lesson From The Story:
Even a small act of kindness can return to you in ways greater than you can ever imagine! Always be kind, for Allah loves
those who are generous and caring. We also learn about the Kindness of The Noble Family of our Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم. Dear Children! If the Grandsons are so generous, we cannot even imagine the kindness of our Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم Who is the kindest in Allah’s entire Creation.
THE SECRET HELPER
A long time ago, in the golden days of Islam, there lived a great and wise man named Hazrat Umar Radi Allahu Anhu. He was not only a brave leader but also a very close friend of our beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. Everyone respected Hazrat Umar Radi Allahu Anhu because he was just and fair. But do you know what made him even more special? He was very kind and humble, and he cared deeply for others.
One night, while the city was asleep, Hazrat Umar quietly left his home. He walked through the dark, silent streets and went into a small house. After a while, he came out and went to another house. Watching him from a distance was another Noble Companion, Hazrat Talha Radi Allahu Anhu, who was very curious about what Hazrat Umar was doing at such a late hour.
The next morning, Hazrat Talha Radi Allahu Anhu decided to visit the house Hazrat Umar had gone into the night before. He wanted to understand what was happening. When he knocked, a gentle voice invited him in. Inside, he saw an elderly woman. She was very old, blind, and unable to move. She sat quietly in her little home. Hazrat Talha greeted her with peace and asked kindly, “Dear mother, can you tell me about the person who visits you at night?”
The old woman smiled and said, “Ah, that kind man? He comes every night. He cleans my home, brings me what I need, and takes care of all my chores. I do not know who he is, but he never forgets me.”
Hazrat Talha Radi Allahu Anhu was amazed. He realised that the kind man who had been helping this helpless woman every single night was none other than Hazrat Umar, the great leader of all the Muslims.
Feeling a mix of surprise and shame, Hazrat Talha quietly said to himself, “O Talha, why can’t you be like Umar? Look at him; such a powerful man, but he chooses to help someone in need with his own hands, without telling anyone.”
The Lesson From The Story:
This story teaches us a very important lesson: No matter how big or important we become, we should always be kind and helpful, especially, to those who cannot help themselves. Hazrat Umar Radi Allahu Anhu showed us that real strength is in caring for others; quietly, humbly, and with love.
THE KIND-HEARTED COMPANION AND THE CRAFTY JEW
A long time ago, in the Holy City of Madina, there lived a kind and generous man named Hazrat Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu. He was very rich, so people called him “Ghani,” which means wealthy. However, more than his money, he had something even more special. He had a heart full of kindness and love, and this was his true wealth.
One day, there was a big problem in Madina. The people needed water to drink, but there was only one big well nearby called the Well of Rooma. The water from this well was cool, clean, and very sweet; just perfect for drinking. However, the well belonged to a man who was not fair. He asked for too much money just to let people take water. This made the poor people very sad, and many could not afford to buy water.
Our beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم heard about this and said, “Whoever buys this well for the people will get a beautiful Mansion in Jannah (Paradise).”
Hazrat Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu heard the Beloved Nabi’s صلى الله عليه وسلم
words. Right away, he went to the man who owned the well and asked to buy it. But the man said,
“No, I won’t sell it!”
Hazrat Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu did not give up. He gently spoke to the man and made a deal. He bought half of the well. That meant the people could take water for free every other day!
Soon, the people stopped buying water on the other days too. So, the man finally agreed to sell the rest of the well. Hazrat Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu bought the whole well and gave it to all the people; as a gift forever! No one had to pay ever again.
The Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم was so happy. He gave Hazrat Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu the good news that he would have a palace in Jannah.
From that day, the well was also called “Beer e Uthman e Ghani” or, the Well of Uthman, because of his big heart and kind gift.
The Lesson From The Story:
Even if you have a lot, the best thing is to share with others, just like Hazrat Uthman Radi Allahu Anhu did. Kindness and generosity bring happiness in this world and the next! Being crafty does not benefit you in the end.
THE YOUNG BOY WHO KEPT HIS PROMISE
Long ago, in the Persian city of Jilaan, lived a very respectable young boy with a heart full of goodness. His name was Abdul Qaadir. He wasn’t like other boys, who ran through the streets playing. His dream was to get the knowledge of Allah’s Deen and to invite people towards goodness. One day, he turned to his gentle and pious mother and said, ‘Dear Mother, may I go to Baghdad to learn more about our Deen (Our Religion of Islam)?’
His mother, Sayyida Ummul Khayr Faatima Radi Allahu Anha, was already very old and weak. She looked at her son, the apple of her eye, and though her heart jerked with sadness, she nodded with a smile. ‘Yes, my beloved,’ she said, ‘Go and seek knowledge. Almighty Allah will be with you. He is your Protector.’
Even though she needed her son by her side during her old-age, she wanted something far greater for him, in his young age. She wanted him to attain the pleasure of Almighty Allah and His Beloved Rasool صلى الله عليه وسلم. She wanted her beloved son to be a shining example for all the children of the world.
Just as he was about to leave from Jilaan to Baghdad, she said, ‘Before passing away, your father left eighty Dinaars (gold coins) for you and your brother. I will give forty dinaars to you, and I will keep forty dinaars for your younger brother Sayyid Abu Ahmad Abdullah.’
She gave him the forty golden coins, carefully sewing them under the arm of his coat. She did this, because in those days, there were many thieves and highway robbers. Then, with eyes full of love, she held his hand and whispered her final advice, ‘Always speak the truth, my son. Even if you face any danger, do not ever lie.’
The young Abdul Qaadir held her gentle hands tightly and said with all his heart, ‘I promise from my heart, dearest mother, I will never lie.’
And so, with a heart strong in Imaan and his beloved mother’s Dua protecting him, the young Abdul Qaadir set off for Baghdad. As he journeyed with a group of travellers, the roads twisted through forests thick with tall trees and shadows. One day, as birds cried from the treetops, a gang of sixty bandits leapt from behind the bushes and attacked their travel group.
The robbers took everything from the travellers. Swords flashed, bags were ripped open, and fear filled the air. They
were being robbed by the dangerous bandits, and couldn’t do anything. However, the young Abdul Qaadir stood quietly.
He stood calmly, like a small lamp in a terrifying storm. None of the robbers bothered him. He was just a young boy, after all. After some time, one of the bandits came to him and asked, ‘Hey, young boy! Do you have anything valuable?’ The young Abdul Qaadir looked up and said, ‘Yes. I have forty gold coins sewn in my coat.’
The robber laughed and walked away. Another bandit came and heard the same. Soon, they were all laughing at the boy who told tales. Their leader, a tall, fearsome man named Ahmed Badawi, heard the commotion. ‘Bring that boy here!’ He roared. When the young Abdul Qaadir was brought before him, he asked sternly, ‘Is it true? Do you have gold coins?’
‘Yes,’ Abdul Qaadir replied softly. ‘Under my arm.’ They tore open the coat, and there, to their shock, were the forty shining gold coins! Ahmed Badawi’s eyes widened. ‘Boy,’ he growled, ‘We are robbers! We didn’t know you had anything. Why did you tell the truth?’
The young Abdul Qaadir stood firm, looking at Ahmed Badawi boldly. He said,
‘My beloved mother made me promise I would never
lie. Even if I lost everything, I would still keep my word.’
Suddenly, Ahmed Badawi’s voice broke. His roar turned into a whisper.
‘You kept your promise to your mother,’ he whispered, ‘but I have broken every promise to Allah…’
He fell to the ground while weeping, His men watched in silence. Then one by one, they too lowered their weapons and their heads. The jungle that once echoed with fear, was now filled with the sounds of tears and Tauba (Repentance).
The bandits returned everything they had robbed, and walked with the travellers until they were safe. From that day on, they were no longer thieves and bandits who robbed people. They became men of goodness, all because of one brave, truthful boy who kept his promise to his mother.
Dear Children! This young Abdul Qaadir was in fact Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jilaani Radi Allahu Anhu, whom Almighty Allah made the King of The Awliya (Saints).
He is the one who is today known as Hazrat Ghaus e Paak and Hazrat Ghaus e Azam, and he is the one whose Gyarhweeñ Shareef Niaz we Sunnis make. Look!
He was a Wali and full of piety even as a young boy.
THE LITTLE BOY AND THE EID GIFT
A long time ago, there lived two very kind and pious men, Hazrat Sari Saqti and Hazrat Ma’ruf Karkhi. They were very close to Almighty Allah and always loved to help others. Hazrat Ma’ruf was also the special student, and Mureed, of Hazrat Sari Saqti. One day, on the bright and happy day of Eid, Hazrat Sari Saqti was walking when he saw something that made him stop. He saw Hazrat Ma’ruf Karkhi picking up dates from the ground. Curious, Hazrat Sari Saqti asked, “Dear Shaykh Ma’ruf, why are you gathering these dates on such a joyful day?”
Hazrat Ma’ruf Karkhi gently replied, “There is a little boy who is crying because he doesn’t have any new clothes like the other children. I want to sell these dates and buy him something nice, so he can be happy and join the other children without feeling sad.”
Hearing this, Hazrat Sari Saqti smiled warmly and said, “Dear Master, you don’t need to worry. Let me take care of it.” He took the little boy with him and bought him a beautiful new set of clothes. The boy’s face lit up with happiness! Later, Hazrat Sari Saqti said, “After helping that boy, a special Noor; a beautiful light entered my heart. It made me feel so happy and peaceful inside, more than words can describe.”
THE SINCERE STUDENT AND THE WISE SHAYKH
A long time ago, there was a great and wise saint named Hazrat Junaid of Baghdad. Many people came to learn from him, and he had many Mureeds, and students, who followed his teachings and loved him dearly.
However, there was one special student that Hazrat Junaid gave more attention to. He spoke to him kindly, praised him often, and treated him with great care.
Some of the other students began to feel jealous. They asked, “Hazrat, why do you love him more than the rest of us?”
Hazrat Junaid smiled and said, “Because he is the wisest and most understanding among you.”
The students were still unsure. So Hazrat Junaid said, “Let me show you why.”
He gave each student a chicken and a knife and gave them one task: “Go somewhere where no one can see you and sacrifice this chicken.”
The students all ran off in different directions. They went behind trees, into dark caves, behind walls, and wherever they
thought no one was watching. One by one, they came back with their chickens sacrificed.
But the one special student came back too…with his chicken still alive.
Hazrat Junaid asked him gently, “Why didn’t you do what I asked?”
The special Mureed replied, “Dear Shaykh, I tried to find a place where no one could see me. But everywhere I went, I remembered that Allah is always watching. So, I could not do it. I came back because there is no place hidden from Allah.”
Hazrat Junaid turned to the other students and said, “Now do you understand why I love him the most? He remembers Allah at all times.” The Lesson From The Story:
Dear children, this story teaches us something very important. It teaches us that Allah is always watching us, no matter where we are; whether we’re in a bright room or a dark corner. We should always do the right thing, even when no one else is looking.
We should never feel jealous of others. Sometimes, our teachers or elders see goodness in someone that we may not understand right away. And finally, we learn that a wise heart is one that always remembers Allah.
THE FIRST FAST OF A PIOUS YOUNG BOY
Dear children, let me tell you about a very special person in Islam. Sayyidi Aala Hazrat, Imam Ahmed Raza Khan. He was a great leader of the Sunni Muslims and a brilliant scholar. He taught people how to truly love Almighty Allah and the Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. He also protected our Religion (Deen) from the evil people and groups who tried to change it. Aala Hazrat’s blessed grave (Mazaar Shareef) is in a city called Bareilly Shareef in India.
Now, let’s hear a story from when Aala Hazrat was just a young child like many of you.
It was a very hot summer’s day in India; so hot that most children found it too hard to even play outside, let alone fast. However, this was the first fast that little Ahmed Raza (Aala Hazrat) was keeping, and he was determined to complete it for the sake of Almighty
Allah.
In their house, there was a special room where sweet dishes were prepared for Iftar (the time to break the fast). One of the dishes was a creamy dessert called
Firni.
As the afternoon heat grew stronger, Aala Hazrat’s beloved father, Hazrat Naqi Ali Khan, who was also a great scholar and a kind man, took his little son into that room.
He quietly closed the door, so no one could see inside. Then he tenderly handed Aala Hazrat a plate of sweet Firni and said with love, “My dear son, you’re very young. This is how little children fast. You can eat now. It’s alright.”
Little Ahmed Raza looked at his father with respect and replied, “Dear Father, I cannot eat. I am fasting.” His father smiled and said, “But I’ve closed the door. No one can see you.”
And then came the words that showed how special Aala Hazrat truly was, even as a child. He said: “The One for whom I am fasting; Allah Almighty…He can still see me!”
Subhaan’Allah! His father was so touched that tears filled his eyes. He saw that even in the heat, even as a young boy, his son had such deep love and awareness of Almighty Allah.
This was the very first fast of the great Imam of Ahle Sunnat, Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Radi Allahu Anhu.
A SPECIAL GIFT FROM THE SKY
Dear children, a long time ago, in the Holy City of
Makkah, there lived a brave and kind woman named Umme Shurayk. She heard about Islam and the Message of our Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم. As soon as she heard the truth, her heart filled with the love for Almighty Allah, and she became a Muslim.
Umme Shurayk Radi Allahu Anha didn’t keep the goodness of Islam to herself. She quietly began telling other women about it, explaining how beautiful it was to worship only One Allah and to follow the teachings of Muhammadur Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم.
But one day, the people of Makkah found out that she had accepted Islam. They were very upset, and they told her, “If it weren’t for your tribe, we would have punished you badly. Now, we’ll send you away to the Muslims.”
So, they made her sit on a camel; but not in a comfortable way. They didn’t use a saddle or even a cloth. The camel’s back was hot, hard, and rough, and the sun was burning above.
They did not give her any food or water. For three whole days, she travelled in the heat, tied up on the camel, without a single sip of water. Her body became so weak that she said, “I couldn’t even hear the sound of anything moving on the ground.”
Whenever the people stopped to rest, they sat in the cool shade. But Umme Shurayk was left out in the hot sun, tied to the camel, still without water.
Then, something wonderful happened. One day, while she was lying in the burning sand, she suddenly felt something cool on her chest. She looked, and to her surprise; there was a pail (bucket) of water floating near her! She quickly drank from it. Just as she finished, the bucket lifted and disappeared. Then, it came back again. She drank more, and again it disappeared. This happened many times.
Finally, the bucket stayed with her. She drank until her thirst was gone, and then she even poured some water over her head and clothes to feel cool.
When the people of Makkah came back and saw her looking fresh and well, with water marks on her clothing, they were shocked. They asked, “Did you untie yourself and steal our water?”
Umme Shurayk said calmly, “No, I didn’t. By Allah, this is what happened…” And she told them about the miracle of the water.
They were so surprised. When they checked their water containers, nothing had been touched. They looked at each
other and said, “If what she says is true, then her religion is better than ours.”
They felt sorry for treating her so badly. Soon after, Umme Shurayk reached the Blessed City of Madinah, where she joined the Muslims at the Grand Court of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.
The Lessons From The Story:
Dear children, this story of Umme Shurayk teaches us many powerful lessons:
Almighty Allah always takes care of those who love Him and are patient during hard times.
Even when no one helps us, Allah can send His help in ways we don’t expect; just like He sent water from the sky for Umme Shurayk.
We should always be brave and strong in our faith, no matter how difficult things become.
When we love Almighty Allah and His Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم with all our heart, Almighty Allah gives us strength, peace, and blessings.
And finally; Never lose hope in the Mercy of Almighty Allah, even when things seem impossible.
THE BRAVE LADY OF UHUD
Dear children, once, during the time of our Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, there was a big battle called the Battle of Uhud. Many brave people were hurt, and some were even martyred. It was a challenging battle for the Muslims, but in the end, Almighty Allah gave them victory.
In the city of Madina, the people were feeling very worried. News had spread that the Beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had been martyred (In Islam a martyr is one who is killed whilst fighting in the path of Allah). But this news was not true. Still, everyone was frightened and didn’t know what to believe.
While everyone was feeling scared, one very brave woman from the Ansaar (The Helpers of Madina Who Welcomed Those Who Migrated From Makkah) went out to find out what had really happened.
As she walked, she came across the body of a martyr. She asked, “Who is this?” The people told her, “This is your brother.” She walked a little further and saw another person who had been martyred. Again, she asked, “Who is this?” The people replied, “This is your son.”
Then she came across another martyr and asked, “And this?” They said, “This is your husband.” And then another, and the people said, “This is your father.”
So, in that one day, this strong and faithful lady had lost her father, her husband, her brother, and her son. But even after hearing this, do you know what she asked? She said, “Tell me, how is my Beloved Nabi Muhammad
”?صلى الله عليه وسلم
The companions told her, “The Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم is safe and ahead of us.”
She quickly walked towards where the Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم was. When she saw Him صلى الله عليه وسلم , she held his blessed clothing, and said with tears of love: “Ya Rasool’Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم! May my mother and father be sacrificed for you! If you are safe, then I do not worry about anything else.”
The Lessons From The Story:
Dear children, this story teaches us powerful lessons: • True love for the Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم is so deep that it gives strength even in the hardest times.
•
This blessed woman lost her whole family, but she did not complain. Her heart only cared about whether the Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم was safe.
•
Her words show the highest level of Sabr (patience) and faith. It teaches us to be strong in faith and full of love for the Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم, no matter what happens.
THE MAN WHO DIDN’T GO FOR HAJJ, BUT GOT ITS REWARD
Dear children, once there lived a great and pious man named Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mubarak. He was known for his love for Almighty Allah and his kindness. One year, he went to the Holy City of Makkah to perform Hajj.
After completing his Hajj, Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Mubaarak was sitting in the Haram Shareef, the Sacred Mosque in which is the Holy Kaa’ba. He became tired and closed his eyes for a short rest. While he was sleeping, he saw a dream.
In his dream, two Angels came down from the sky. They were speaking to each other.
One Angel asked, “How many people performed Hajj this year?”
The other replied, “Six hundred thousand.”
Then the first Angel asked, “And how many of their Hajj were accepted?”
The second Angel answered, “Not even one.”
When Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Mubaarak heard this in his dream, his heart became very sad. He thought about all the people
who had come from far away, hoping for reward from Allah, and yet, no one’s Hajj was accepted?
Then, he heard the Angel say something amazing,
“There is one man in Damascus named Ali bin
Muwaffaq. He couldn’t come for Hajj, but Allah Almighty accepted his intention and good deed and granted him the reward of Hajj, and then because of him, Allah Almighty accepted the Hajj of all the six hundred thousand people.”
When Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Mubaarak woke up, he couldn’t forget the dream. So, he travelled all the way to Damascus to find this man named Ali bin Muwaffaq.
When he found him, Hazrat Abdullah told him about his dream and asked, “Dear brother, what did you do that made Almighty Allah so pleased with you?”
Ali bin Muwaffaq became emotional and fainted. When he woke up, with tears in his eyes, he said: “For thirty years, I worked as a shoemaker, saving little by little so I could go for Hajj. Finally, I saved three hundred silver coins. I was ready to leave the next day.”
“That night, my pregnant wife smelled meat cooking in our neighbour’s house. She became hungry and asked if we could have some. So I went to the neighbour and kindly asked if they could share a little.”
THE DESERT LIZARD IN THE BEDOUIN’S SLEEVE
More than fourteen hundred years ago, during the Blessed Time of our Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم, the Second Khalifa of Islam, Hazrat Umar Radi Allahu Anhu, told a very special story.
One day, Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم was sitting peacefully in a gathering with His صلى الله عليه وسلم beloved companions, the Sahaba e Kiraam Radi Allahu Anhum. They were talking, learning, and enjoying the presence of the Beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Just then, a desert man (called a Bedouin), who came from a tribe called the Banu Sulaym, arrived. This Bedouin had caught a strange little desert lizard and had hidden it in the long sleeve of his robe. He planned to take it home later, roast it over a fire and eat it, as some of the Bedouins ate these creatures in the old days.
As the Bedouin approached, he saw the wonderful and peaceful gathering of the Sahaba e Kiraam
Ridwaanullahi Ta’aala Alaihim Ajma’een sitting with great respect. In the middle of them was someone who looked very special. The Bedouin pointed to the person and asked, “Who is this man?”
The Sahaba replied, “He is Allah’s Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم.”
The Bedouin didn’t believe right away. Instead, he pulled the lizard out of his sleeve and said, “By Laat and Uz-za! I will not believe in you until this lizard believes in you.”
Dear Children! Laat and Uz-za were the names of some of the idols whom the ancient non-Muslims of Arabia worshipped. Muslims do not worship idols. We only worship and believe in One Allah.
The Bedouin then kept the little lizard on the ground in front of Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Rasoolullah صلى الله عليه وسلم looked at the lizard and called out to it. He صلى الله عليه وسلم
said, “O lizard!”
To the shock of everyone there, the lizard suddenly began to speak! And not just in any way; it spoke in clear, beautiful Arabic that everyone understood.
The lizard said, “I am present with all my heart and soul, O Beauty of all humanity, who are destined to face the Day of Judgement!”
Then Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم asked, “Whom do you worship?”
The lizard replied, “I worship the Divine Being, whose Throne is above the heavens, whose kingdom is over the earth, whose paths are in the oceans, whose mercy is in Paradise, and whose punishment is in Hell.”
Dear Children, in other words, it said that it worshipped Almighty Allah.
Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم then asked, “And who am I?”
The lizard answered, “You are the Rasool of the Creator of all the worlds and the Seal of the Nabis (The Final Nabi). Whoever believes in you has been successful, and whoever denies you is doomed.”
When the Bedouin heard the lizard speak such powerful and true words, his heart changed. He was full of admiration and delight. Without waiting a moment longer, the Bedouin said the words of Imaan and became a Muslim.
The Lessons From This Story:
Even animals know the truth about our beloved Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم
and speak with love and respect for Him صلى الله عليه وسلم and they know that Allah is their Creator and that Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم is Allah’s Beloved Nabi and the Beauty of Humanity.
Allah can make anything possible, and even a lizard can speak, when He wishes to show the truth. Believing in Almighty Allah and His Beloved Rasool صلى الله عليه وسلم is the key to success in this life and the next. Never doubt the signs of Almighty Allah, no matter how surprising or small they may seem.
True belief can come in unexpected ways, but once it comes, it brings light to the heart.
THE SWEETEST GRAPES FROM HEAVEN
A long, long time ago, in the hot deserts near Makkah Shareef, there lived a very kind and pious man who loved Almighty Allah very, very much. He wasn’t rich, and he didn’t have many clothes or a lot of food, but his heart was full of love and trust in Almighty Allah.
One day, a traveller named Hazrat Laith Sa’ad was walking to the Holy City of Makkah to make Hajj. It was a long walk! When he reached a tall mountain called Jabal Abu Qais, the sun was getting low, and it was almost time for the Asr prayer. There, he saw something wonderful.
High on the mountain sat a pious man, all alone, making Dua in the Court of Allah Almighty, with some of Almighty Allah’s Beautiful Names.
His words were like the wind; gentle, strong, and full of love. Then the man made a simple wish. He said, “O Allah, I would love to have some grapes to eat, and my clothes are old and torn. Please bless me with something new to wear.”
Laith blinked in surprise. Suddenly, whoosh! Right before his eyes appeared a basket full of grapes. And right next to it were two beautiful pieces of cloth. But grapes don’t grow in the
desert, and cannot be easily found, especially not at that time of the year!
Laith was amazed. “Wow! Can I have some too?” he asked. The kind man smiled. “Were you saying Aameen to my prayers?” “Yes, I was!” said Laith. “Then come, my friend. Let’s eat together!”
The grapes were the juiciest and sweetest Laith had ever tasted. No matter how much they ate, the basket stayed full; like a magic bowl that never emptied! After they finished eating, the kind man gave Laith one of the pieces of cloth. Laith said politely, “Thank you, but I have enough to wear.”
So, the man tied one cloth around his waist and the other over his shoulders, and they walked down the mountain together. As they passed near the blessed mountains of Safa and Marwah, a poor man saw the cloth and called out, “O kind man! Please give me your clothes. Allah will give you clothes from Jannah (Paradise)!”
The kind man smiled, and without hesitation gave away both pieces of his new clothes to the poor man! Putting back his old clothes.
Laith was stunned again. “Who is this man?” he whispered to the beggar. The beggar said, “That was Hazrat Imam Ja’far As
Sadiq Radi Allahu Anhu, a greatgrandson of our Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم!”
Hazrat Laith then turned around to follow him, but Imam Ja’far had disappeared, like a gentle breeze in the desert.
The Lessons From The Story:
Dear Children, we have learnt the following important lessons from this beautiful story:
To Trust in Allah: Imam Ja’far made Dua to Almighty Allah from his heart and trusted Him, and Allah gave him what he had asked for.
Be Generous: Even when he had little, Imam Ja’far shared with others. Sharing brings blessings.
Say “Aameen” with your heart: Saying “Aameen” to someone’s Dua with love can make you part of the blessing.
True Richness is in Kindness: Fancy clothes and sweet fruits come and go, but kindness and faith stay forever.
The most important lesson in this story is that the pious servants of Allah do not care about the world and its belongings.
So, when they make Dua to Allah, they do so from their heart and Allah blesses them.
So, when we ask anything from Allah, we should ask through the pious and most importantly through the Blessed name of our Beloved Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم.
THE POWER OF A MOTHER’S DUA
Dear children! Before we begin our story, let’s meet a very special friend of Allah; Hazrat Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaaz Radi Allahu Anhu. People lovingly call him Sultan ul Hind (The true King of India) because Allah honoured him with a high rank. His real name is Muhiyud’deen and his blessed resting place (Mazaar Shareef) is in Ajmer Shareef, India.
Our great Imam, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Radi Allahu Anhu of Bareilly Shareef, taught us to respect Hazrat Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaaz and all the Awliya Allah (the saints). He said that if we visit their Mazaars (graves) and make Dua there with a sincere heart, Allah will be pleased with us and will accept our prayers, because his Mazaar Shareef is counted among the great places of acceptance.
Dear Children, we must always love all the Awliya Allah and we must never listen to the evil people who tell us not to visit the Mazaars of the Awliya, or not to ask help from Allah Almighty through them. Remember, they are the friends of Allah, so if we tell Almighty Allah to help us and bless us through them, then Almighty Allah will be pleased because we are taking the names of His Beloved Friends, and Allah will then surely bless us.
Now, let me tell you a very short story about a boy who did many wrong things. The reason I told you about Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaaz Radi Allahu Anhu before telling you this story, is because this story was told by Hazrat Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaaz Radi Allahu Anhu himself.
Long ago there lived a young man who often made bad choices. He disobeyed Allah, missed his prayers, and followed friends who led him toward wrong deeds. Yet there was one beautiful habit he never forgot. Every time he left home, he would stand in front of his elderly mother, lower his head with respect, say “As Salaamu Alaikum Dear Mother” and wait for her reply.
His mother would smile kindly, and make a heartfelt Dua for him. She would say, “May Allah forgive you, my son, and may He give you the reward of a Hajj.”
Days passed and the young man never really changed his ways, and soon his time on earth came to an end.
After his burial, another person from the town saw a remarkable dream. In that dream he saw Hajis walking in the gardens of Jannah (Paradise) dressed in white. To his astonishment, there was the same young man, shining with happiness and walking right beside the Hajis!
In the dream he called out: “O Young Man! How did you receive this honour? I remember your sinful life on earth, yet here you are among the blessed Hajis
(pilgrims)!”
The young man replied: “Everything you say is true. I was weak and often disobeyed Allah. But whenever I left home, I greeted my mother with deep respect, and she always prayed, ‘May Allah forgive you and grant you the reward of Hajj.’ Allah accepted her Dua for me. He forgave my sins and, by His mercy, placed me with the Hajis in Paradise.”
And with that the dream faded, leaving the dreamer amazed at the power of a mother’s sincere prayer. Dear Children, we should always protect ourselves from sins and doing bad things, but we should always be loving and caring towards our parents, and if Allah Wills, He will forgive us because of the Dua of our parents.
Lessons From The Story:
Respect and Obey Your Parents: A mother’s or father’s Dua is precious. When we honour them, Allah grants us honour.
Never Underestimate a Small Good Deed: A simple, heartfelt Salaam brought the young man great blessings.
Trust the Mercy of Allah: Even if we slip, we should repent and do good; Allah’s mercy is without limits.
Love the Awliya Allah: Remembering and visiting the saints like Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaaz draws
Allah’s pleasure.
Choose Good Actions Today: Let’s pray, stay away from sin, listen to our parents, and greet them with love every day.
Try This Beautiful Challenge: Before you leave for school tomorrow, or when you wake up in the morning, greet your parents with a warm “As Salaamu Alaikum” and ask them to make Dua for you. See how it brightens their faces. As their face brightens, In’sha Allah, Almighty Allah will brighten your heart…
THE MIRACULOUS PATH TO THE HAJR E ASWAD
Not so Long ago, only a few years before today, there lived a great Saint (Wali) named Huzoor Taajush Shariah Radi Allahu Anhu. His real name was Imam Mufti Mohammed Akhtar Raza Khan Qaadiri Azhari. He was known as “the greatest friend of Allah in our time,” and he was the great-grandson of our great Imam, Sayyidi Aala Hazrat Radi Allahu Anhu.
One spring, Huzoor Taajush Shariah travelled to the Holy City of Makkah to perform Umrah. My family and I were blessed to be there too, and my son and I were fortunate to push his wheelchair as he circled the Kaa’ba in Tawaaf. After completing almost seven circles, Huzoor Taajush Shariah whispered, “I would love to kiss the Hajr e Aswad.”
The Hajr e Aswad is a shiny black stone from Jannah (Paradise) placed in the corner of the Kaa’ba. Everyone wants to touch or kiss it, because our Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم kissed it, so there is always a big, busy crowd. That day the crowd looked like a sea of people, pushing, stretching, and reaching. Huzoor Taajush Shariah Radi Allahu Anhu was already old and sat in a wheelchair.
How could he reach the stone?
We rolled him close to Maqaam e Ibrahim, the glass case that holds Nabi Ibrahim’s Blessed Foot-print. From there the stone
was only a few metres away, but the crowd was thick. Huzoor Taajush Shariah Radi Allahu Anhu sat quietly, eyes half-closed. It felt as if he were waiting for a silent signal from the Court of Almighty Allah. Suddenly something astonishing happened. The crowd on both sides parted; left and right, just like two gates opening.
People stopped pushing. Even the policemen stood perfectly still, as if saluting. A clear, empty pathway stretched straight from Huzoor Taajush Shariah’s wheelchair to the Hajr e Aswad! We all stared wideeyed at the peaceful aisle that had appeared out of nowhere. Huzoor Taajush Shariah, the Wali of Allah, rose from his wheelchair, walked calmly along the open path, and placed a gentle kiss on the Blessed Stone. For those few moments no one else was close enough to touch it, only him. As soon as he returned and sat down, the crowd flowed back together. The pushing and shoving began again as though the world had been paused and then restarted. I will remember that shining moment for the rest of my life.
The Lessons From The Story:
Allah Honours His Friends: When someone loves Allah sincerely, Allah shows special Mercy to them, even in the busiest place on earth.
Patience and Respect: Huzoor Taajush Shariah Radi Allahu Anhu did not push or complain. He waited calmly, and
Allah made a way for him. Love the Holy Places: Visiting the Kaa’ba Shareef, Maqaam e Ibrahim, the Hajr e Aswad and Madina Shareef, reminds us of the Nabis and deepens our faith.
Believe in Miracles: Sometimes Allah does wonderful things that no one can explain, just to teach us His power and Mercy, and to show us the greatness of His Beloved Friends, The Awliya Allah. Respect the Awliya (Saints): Showing love to the friends of Allah brings us closer to Him and fills our hearts with peace. So, dear children, be patient, be kind, and always love those beloveds who love
Allah.
THE SURPRISE IN THE SKY
It was the holy month of Ramadaan, a time when the heart softens and kindness grows. An elderly scholar, gentle and wise, was travelling with one of his students. They were flying from a city by the sea to another one far away in a different country, with a stop in between at a chilly, busy airport.
A few days before the journey, the student used his saved-up airline miles to upgrade one of the tickets to business class. He knew that his teacher was growing old and wanted him to be as comfortable as possible. But on the day of the flight, a surprise came.
“There’s only one business class seat left,” the airline staff said.,“And there’s a small issue with the teacher’s ticket name.”
So, the student decided to upgrade his own ticket and had a clever plan: once they were on the plane, he would swap seats and give the business class seat to his teacher.
At the next airport stop, the morning was icy. It was just 1°C! The teacher quietly sat. The student explained his plan once more, saying, “I upgraded my seat, but only so you could take it. I’ll sit in yours.”
The teacher smiled, shook his head, and said softly, “I don’t need comfort, my son. You keep it.”
Still, the student couldn’t bear the idea of sitting in comfort while his beloved teacher sat in the back. They sat in silence, waiting for the gate to open, their breaths like fog in the chilly air.
At boarding, the call came, “Business class to the right, economy to the left!” The teacher joined the line for economy. The student joined the business class queue, feeling a little uncomfortable.
But just before stepping onto the plane, he turned and called out, “Please, let’s swap now!”
The teacher smiled gently and handed over his boarding stub. The student looked at it, and froze. It didn’t say “economy” anymore. It now said business class. And not just any seat; the one right next to his own.
But how? Just moments ago, the ticket had said “economy.” There had only been one seat available. No staff had made any changes. The student looked at his teacher, whose eyes sparkled with calmness and trust in Allah.
The student immediately understood that “When you do something for Allah, He can change even what seems unchangeable.”
The two sat next to each other in peaceful silence, flying high above the clouds, whispering words of dhikr and prayer as they journeyed in the blessed month.
Who Were They? The teacher was none other than Huzoor Sayyidi Muhad’dith e Kabeer Hazrat Allama Mufti Zia ul Mustafa Qaadiri Amjadi, one of the greatest scholars of Hadith in our time. The student was Afthab Cassim, the author of this very story.
Lessons From The Story:
Serve your teachers and elders: Even a small act of kindness can carry great reward, when it comes to your teachers.
Be humble: The greatest people often choose simplicity.
The Awliya Are Indeed Blessed With Special Powers: Huzoor Sayyidi Muhad’dith e Kabeer and other great Awliya hide their reality in their simplicity and humility.
So, always remain respectful and loving.
