Surah Kahf

Surah Kahf is the 18th surah of the Holy Quran, comprising 110 verses. It is a Makki surah and is positioned in the 15th- 16th para of the Quran.

Meaning and Theme:

The title “Al-Kahf” means “The Cave.” The central theme of this surah revolves around four significant stories that provide valuable lessons:

1. The People of the Cave – A story about young believers who sought refuge in a cave to protect their faith.
2. The Companion of Two Gardens – A lesson on wealth, arrogance, and gratitude to Allah.
3. Musa (AS) and Khidr (AS) – An account of patience, divine wisdom, and the unseen knowledge of Allah.
4. Dhul-Qarnayn – The story of a just ruler who helped oppressed people and built a barrier against Gog and Magog.

All these incidents highlight various types of temptations (Fitnah) that one must avoid to live a righteous life. The surah also emphasizes the consequences of faith and disbelief and the best way to deal with life’s challenges.
